What is the timing for ordering my invitations?
Design time typically takes 2-3 weeks,
When should I mail my invitations?
We recommend mailing invitations 8-10 weeks before the event, so please allow ample time for ordering and addressing. It is also wise to order additional invitations and envelopes to cover any last minute guests.
How will I receive my order?
If you are in Chicago we offer free delivery and will coordinate with you.
We usually ship USPS 2-day. If you prefer another method just let us know.
How do you work on designs?
During our initial consultation, whether by phone, email, or in person, we will learn about your wishes for the wedding and the invitations.
You may share inspirations with us that capture the feeling you want to express via email with images or sharing your Pinterest board with us.
You may have something more specific like a color, flower, symbol or photograph that you would like us to incorporate into the design. Feel free to share those with us.
What type of payment do you accept?
Erickson Design accepts all major credit cards and checks and PayPal.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel your job, the initial deposit shall be retained as a cancellation fee.
What is letterpress?
Letterpress is an amazing printing technique that was invented in the 15th century where a metal plate is pressed into the paper to create a distinct and artistic impression.
What is offset printing?
Offset is flat ink and is the least expensive process.
Using the consultation as our starting point we will design your invitation proof. After you have reviewed the proof and made any necessary revisions,
final adjustments will be made and your invitations will go into production.
Do you have a catalog?
We have an Etsy.com site with designs we do on a regular basis but most of our invitations are custom and we prefer to design just for you and your event.
How do I place my order?

Can I change the font on the invitation?
Of course! We can change the font, the color, the paper, the size, the shape. Almost anything can be customized to create your perfect invitation.
Do you offer samples?
Yes, you can request samples through the website or call us directly.
How long does it take to get my samples?
Your samples are mailed in a small box via Priority Mail, they should arrive to you within 5-7 business days.
Can you create custom samples?
Yes, if you would like to discuss customizing a design or have a completely new design you would like us to create we can create a custom mock-up for you. Please call for more information.
Do you offer addressing/calligraphy?
Yes, we offer printed addressing of your envelopes in the same fonts and inks as your invitation for $1.00 each or we can recommend some amazing calligraphers for you to use.
Do you offer programs, menus and placecards to coordinate with my invitations?
Yes, we can design any piece you might need for your wedding including favor boxes, circle menus, welcome letters for your guests staying at the hotels and much more. Just ask and I'm sure the answer will be yes.
How do I submit photos for save the dates, invitations, thank you cards or birth announcements?
You can email your digital photos to email@example.com. We do require that the photo is 600dpi or higher. If it is taken from your phone, please realize it will not print as crisp and clean as a photograph taken by a professional or a high resolution camera.
Can I see your designs in a stationery store?
Because of the custom nature of our invitations we prefer dealing directly with you to help guide you through the entire process. We do have a shared office space at 1229 N. North Branch, Suite 303. It is appointment only, so please feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org set up a time and date to meet.
Please proof the your PDF proofs carefully. Once you have given us the go-ahead to print with a response to this email we will go to print and any changes after that will incur a fee. Remember we do have spell check but there is no way for us to know how to spell certain names, locations, etc. Thanks so much and we will notify you of our progress and completion.
Being good to the Earth
We take many steps in the design and printing processes to ensure we are being as Earth friendly as possible.
Using PDf proofs instead of printed pieces, printing in-house so that plates and chemicals are not being used, using recycled and tree-free papers, utilizing paper companies here and abroad that run on water, solar or wind power, recycling and donating any scraps.
And finally we plant a tree through the National Arbor Association for every set of invitations we produce.
